Punkin Place
Monique came out to Punkin Place to observe some of students that we had concerns with. Monique is very knowledgeable about her work and she gave the teacher some really good and effective strategies to assist the students. Monique seems to be a very dedicated employee and is passionate about her work. I know sometimes we take for granted the resources that are available to us and may not always say how much we appreciate what we receive. I would like to let you know that Ms. Roz and I appreciate the time and effort that Monique gave to the children and to Ms. Roz on her visits. KUDOS to Monique for a job well done!
From A Caring Aunt
I just wanted to send you a note to let you know the guidance you all have provided me has been immeasurable. I was able to find a child care facility in our neighborhood and met with the woman who runs it. My niece and I feel we have found the right place for her son. As Auntie….I am just RELIEVED! I think the advice of everyone in your office helped ease my mind tremendously. So I just wanted to say thank you.
Be blessed!!
Thankful Grandmother
Dear Early Learning Coalition of Duval,
Applause ,appreciation, and many, many thanks to you for the VPK program. My granddaughter is a bright, wonderful child but she was missing social and emotional interaction and learning.
Florida being the wonderful state for early childhood education has a summer VPK for children who did not attend the fall session. My son is a Florida resident on active duty in Mississippi, so he has residential rights and my daughter-in-law is a stay at home mom.
My granddaughter wanted to go to VPK so much. All year she had ask me if she come stay with me to go to VPK. I told her if she wanted to come in the summer she could , if her parents were in agreement. That is exactly what happened. She came the later part of May and began VPK. She loved it from day one.
It was amazing to see the maturity and learning that took place in those two months. She recognized about half the upper case alphabet. By the end of the summer she identified all upper and lower case letters and their sounds. She was able to sound out simple thee and four letter words. She learn to read some sight words. I am a former elementary teacher, her other grandmother is a teacher, and her great grandmother is a retired elementary teacher. Everyone was so amazed at how much she absorbed in a summer. Her great grandmother wrote me a note at the end of the summer saying she believed this was the best thing that had ever happened to this little girl.
She is doing fantastic in kindergarten, way ahead of the game. Her social, emotional, intellectual progress was phenomenal. Her love of learning was even greater. Everyday she had a new experience to share. Numbers, letters, stories, songs, routines, schedules, responsibility, friends were all so exciting. Thank you for providing a little girl an adventure that will continue her entire life.
