Children's Week Hand Strands
It's that time of year again! April 14 is statewide "Children's Day at Capitol" and the local event will take place on Thursday, March 19 at the Jacksonville Landing. Part of the annual festivities include the "Hanging of Hands" in Jacksonville City Hall and Capitol Rotunda in Tallahassee. Instructions for making hand strands can be found here.

Success By 6

Success By 6 is a program of the United Way of Northeast Florida and is operated in Jacksonville by ELC of Duval.

Success By 6 offers two year scholarships to a 4 or 5 star center that has signed a contract to partner with the Success By 6 program. Click here for a list of partnering Success By 6 centers and schools.

Star ratings are determined by ELC of Duval. For a list of ALL Guiding Stars of Duval center's click here.

Eligible children must be 3 on or before September 1st of the program year. To be eligible, families must be between
120-200% of the Federal Poverty Level
.

How Do I Apply For Success By 6?

We are currently accepting applications for the 2015-2016 program year.  If you have a child that turns 3 between September 2, 2014 and September 1, 2015 and you are working at least 20 hrs per week and/or enrolled in school full time you may be eligible.

  1. Families need to apply through the Single Point of Entry (SPE) by clicking here.
  2. If you need help applying or have questions you can contact Heather Mooney at 904-208-2044 x 285 or by email at hmooney@elcduval.org.
  3. Once you apply, your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted by a staff person to determine your eligibility. If you are eligible, you will be placed on the Wait List until enrollment takes place, depending on availability of funding.
  4. The program will not begin until August 1, 2015 for eligible families.
