VPK is available free to families of 4-year-olds who live in Florida!

IMPORTANT NEWS

2010 VPK Registration is happening now!

If your child will be 4-years-old on or before September 1 and resides in Florida, he or she may participate in the VPK program.

Parents Must Bring The Following Documentation:
(Copies of originals will be made of these documents)
(to expedite service, parents may bring their own copies in addition to the originals)
 
 
Child's birth certificate OR Physician signed shot record
AND 1 proof of Florida residency:  

*EXAMPLES: valid Flordia Driver's License; recent mortgage statement or lease agreement;  or recent utility bill.

Effective August 31, 2009: bank statements, homeowners insurance and vehicle insurance will no longer be accepted as proof of residency.  

*The proof of residency must match the address  where the child resides, which should be reflected on the application.
 
*If you apply online through the STATE's VPK portal; you MUST bring the printed out application to a sign-up event OR to our offices to complete the enrollment process.
 

 A parent application for the VPK program is available at the time you sign up your child or you may download a copy of the application under the section IMPORTANT VPK ENROLLMENT INFORMATION above. *Please bring your child's Social Security number as well.

 

Once your child is signed-up you will be given a VPK Certificate.  The white copy is yours to keep and you give the yellow copy to the provider of your choice.  It is the yellow copy that enrolls your child into the VPK program.

2010 VPK Readiness Rate Information, Click Here. 

      Readiness Rates are determined by a series of assessments given to public Kindergarten students in the first 30 days of Kindergarten.  Parents, If your child attends a PRIVATE SCHOOL Kindergarten, it is your responsibility to have them assessed so that your VPK provider can recieve an accurate Readiness Rate.  Contact your local Duval County Public Elementay School or click here to visit the Duval County website for school information.

Where do I go to Sign up?
You may bring the required documents listed above to the Coalition office at 6850 Belfort Oaks Place, Suite 102. Directions and office hours are located in the list of links at the top of this page. The Early Learning Coalition offers many convenient dates and locations in the community for you to come and sign up your child for the VPK program.
